FASCIA METAL INSTALLATION
Also known as “Fascia Wrap” or “Fascia Capping”, Fascia Metal is a protective layer of aluminum material installed over the fascia boards to help prevent moisture contact to the wood. By preventing water from contacting natural wood, the overall lifespan of the wood can be extended. In addition, the overall structural integrity of the roofing eave will be preserved for a longer period of time.

RAKE METAL
Rake metal is basically the exact same as fascia metal, except for that it is installed to rake boards instead of fascia boards. The easiest way to tell the difference between the two, is that fascia boards are horizontal and rake boards are diagonal. Fascia boards cap off the horizontal edge of the roofing eaves, whereas rake boards are installed along the slanted sections of roof, which are called gables.

TIPS FOR FASCIA METAL INSTALLATION
- Do not leave the top half of the fascia board exposed. Be sure install correct size fascia wraps that cover the entire face of the board. (1″ x 6″ wrap for 1″ x 6″ fascia board)
- Make sure the fascia metal is tucked behind the drip edge or flashing. Otherwise water will go behind the metal and wreak havoc to the wood.
