GUTTER SYSTEM DIAGNOSTIC INSPECTION
Our gutter diagnostic inspection service presents customers with the option of avoiding scheduling a gutter cleaning service when only an inspection is needed. Typically priced at our minimum service fee of $100, our diagnostic inspection service allows us to send one of our skilled and experienced installers to the home to thoroughly inspect the gutter system. This way we are able to properly diagnose all gutter related issues and provide recommendations to resolve these issues.
Sometimes gutter systems have issues that may be hard to determine the causes without setting up ladders and taking a closer look. That’s where our diagnostic inspection service comes in handy. The general rule of thumb is if ladders are required to inspect the gutter system, then the minimum service fee will be applied. And if ladders are not required then it is typically a free estimate.

Common Situations For Diagnostic Inspection
- New gutters or recently repaired gutters that haven’t been working properly
- Other crews have attempted to fix the issues, but the problems persist
- Gutters that have been cleaned recently and are still having issues
- There are no trees around the area making it unlikely the gutters are clogged
- Issues are occurring away from the downspouts, or other signs the issues are not clogged related
Keep In Mind Inspection Is Included With Our Gutter Cleaning Services
Diagnostic inspection of the gutter system is automatically included with our gutter cleaning services. Therefore, if you know the gutters haven’t been cleaned or serviced in some time, it would be more cost efficient to schedule a gutter cleaning service instead of inspection.
DIAGNOSTIC INSPECTION F.A.Q.’S
If you believe your gutter issues are completely unrelated to clogged gutters or gutter debris then a diagnostic inspection will be more cost efficient than scheduling a gutter cleaning service.
In situations where the gutters haven’t been cleaned for a few seasons or even years, then it may be worth considering having the gutters cleaned to get more value from the service.
Our diagnostic inspection fee for most homes is our minimum service fee of $100. However, there are some situations that could require additional charges such as:
- When either a 32 ft. or 40 ft. ladder is required
- An additional helper is required
- Steep roof pitches or other unwalkable roofing conditions (metal roofs, solar panels, etc..)
- Homes that are very large (4,000 sq. ft. plus)
If the cost will be more than our standard fee of $100, we will send you a quote before scheduling. All quotes for diagnostic inspections are provided on a case by case basis.
As previously mentioned, if you haven’t had the gutters cleaned or serviced recently and there are trees nearby the home, then a gutter cleaning service (which includes inspection) is recommended.
Attached below are some common signs that a gutter cleaning service is likely needed:
- Gutters are leaking or overflowing near the downspouts
- Downspouts are leaking at the seams
- Minimal water flows through downspouts during rain
- Visible debris piles in the gutters or along the roofing eave
- Pests infestations in gutters or along the roofing eave (birds, squirrels, mosquitos, etc..)
- Plants or sprouts in the gutters
If upon completion of the diagnostic examination the only issues detected were clog related, then the technician will relieve the clog and resolve the issue while he is on site. In this case the diagnostic inspection would be upgraded to a partial gutter cleaning service which is our same minimum service fee of $100.
If the majority of the gutters appear to be clogged or full of debris, the technician or the office will reach out to confirm if the customer would like to upgrade the inspection to a full gutter cleaning service. Otherwise, the technician will only service the problem area gutters noted by the customer.
Besides situations where the problems are likely related to gutter debris and/or clogs, below are some other instances that typically don’t require a diagnostic inspection.
- Setting up a ladder was not required (gutters are low, issues are easily identifiable from the ground, gutters are damaged and/or need to be replaced, etc..)
- Customer has identified the cause of the problem, and/or knows what they would like done
