RE-SECURE LOOSE GUTTERS

loose gutter repair
The most common gutter repair is fixing gutters that have come loose,  otherwise known as re-securing gutters or gutter re-securement. When gutters come loose the solution is to add new heavy duty gutter brackets (gutter hangers) to the gutter, so that the gutters are able to be secured to the fascia board properly.
There are many signs that a gutter has come loose which makes this gutter repair easily identifiable for homeowners.  Listed below are the typical signs of a loose gutter in need of re-securement.

GENERAL PRICING

 Re-secure Gutter System: $3.50 – $5.00 per linear ft.

*Repair minimum service fee = $225.

RE-PITCH GUTTERS

All gutters on the home are to be sloped towards the locations of the downspouts. That way the rain water is able to freely drain through the gutter system. Since water is not able to flow uphill, it is important to always install gutters at a slope so that the downspout locations are the low points of the gutter.
gutter pitch leak
A general rule of thumb to help identify gutter pitch/slope issues is when gutter problems occur away from the downspout. If the problem occurs near the downspout, it is often related to clogs in the downspout or gutter. Listed below are sings to look for that your gutters are sloped improperly.
  • Water Leaks From End Of Gutter Opposite Of The Downspout
  • Gutters Leaking From Corners
  • Standing Water In The Gutter (away from downspout)
  • Shingle Grit Accumulation (away from the downspout)
  • Gutter Drips After Rain (away from the downspout)
  • Ice Damming (away from the downspout)

*Repair minimum service fee = $225.

SEAL LEAKY GUTTER END CAPS, CORNERS, OR SEAMS

There are a few places on the gutter system that require sealants to prevent water from being able to drain through the seams. Pretty much any area that two sections of gutter or accessories meet need to be sealed to prevent leaking. The ends of the gutter (end caps), corner sections (miters), and the outlet are three areas that should should be sealed on every gutter.
Overtime gutter sealants will begin to fail and eventually leak. Time, sun exposure, moisture exposure, and the elements all play a part in wreaking havoc on gutter sealants. The good news is these seams are able to be re-sealed easily using new waterproof sealant.

Gutter End Cap: $15-$20

Gutter Outlet: $10-$15

Miter: $25-$50

Gutter Seams: $25-$50

DOWNSPOUT REPAIRS OR RECONFIGURATIONS

The downspout is the part of the gutter system that carries the water from the gutters to the ground. Over time the brackets that mount the downspout to the wall can come loose which may cause the downspout to hang loose or even fall.

FASCIA BOARD REPAIR AND OTHER WOOD REPAIRS

Almost all gutters are mounted to trim boards called “fascia boards” that wrap around the roofing eave of the home. Besides providing a surface to mount gutters to, fascia boards also cover the opening to the roofing eave.
Exposure to moisture overtime will cause damages to wooden fascia boards. Once the wood begins to rot there is no turning back unfortunately. Eventually the boards will need to be replaced. Otherwise, the fascia boards will fall and bring the gutter system down with it.
Issues with the gutter system such as loose gutters, pitch/slope issues, or even clogged gutter systems can cause water or moisture to go behind the gutter to contact the wood.
We can replace damaged fascia boards with standard wood fascia (pine) or vinyl fascia (PVC). Our experts will let you know whether we suggest wood or vinyl fascia for all projects.

GENERAL PRICING

Fascia Board Re-Securement: $5-$8 per linear ft. (does not include removing and reinstalling gutters)

Wood Fascia Board Replacement: $15-$20 per linear ft. (does not include removing and reinstalling gutters)

Vinyl Fascia Board Replacement: $20-$25 per linear ft. (does not include removing and reinstalling gutters)

Is there a minimum service fee for gutter repairs?

Yes, we currently have a gutter repair minimum service fee of $225.  What this means is no matter how small the repair service, the price will equal $225.

Keep in mind customers are able to combine gutter cleaning services with gutter repairs to avoid having to pay the minimum service fee on smaller repairs. As long of the combined services reach the threshold of the $225 minimum service fee.

Are gutter repairs covered by any warranty or guarantee?

Yes. Our gutter repair services are covered by our 3 year service warranty, with the exception of gutter seals.

Gutter seals are warrantied on a case by case basis. Typically 1 to 3 years depending on the condition of the gutter system. In certain situations, such as when we think it’s a bad idea or will not last for very long, we will not be able to offer a warranty. If that is the case we will make sure the customer is aware there is no warranty.

What is the best way to avoid gutter repairs and/or gutter related home repairs?

The best way to avoid gutter repair issues is by keeping your gutters properly maintained with a yearly gutter cleaning schedule.

The end result of not following proper gutter maintenance is failure of the gutter system. Neglecting your gutters by allowing debris to fill up and clog the system will ultimately lead to gutter repairs such as:
  • Loose gutters
  • Leaks
  • Gutters going out of pitch
  • Fascia board damages

Additionally, gutter repair issues that are ignored can lead to much more expensive repairs to the home’s foundation, roofing eave, fascia board,
